There are no miracles in fitness but at the same time, consistency will yield results, sometimes sooner than you would imagine. If you find a quality coach that will not only help you with your training but your diet as well, the results will come much quicker. However, it is important to understand that there are no shortcuts. Every single beach body that you see was created with a combination of hard work and proper dieting.

If you want to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit

From a dieting standpoint, there are two ways of achieving the body that you want and the road that you will take will depend entirely on the current shape that you are in. If you are overweight and want to lose body fat, you will need to be in a caloric deficit. There is no way around this. Our body loses fat when we provide less energy for it in form of calories than it actually needs. That way it will have no other choice but to use the stored fat as an energy source to maintain a certain balance.

You need some muscles?

Not being overweight but also not having enough muscle mass is also a fairly common scenario. When a woman hears the words “muscle mass” they often cringe, but it is in fact our muscles that will determine the shape of our body. The layer of fat over our muscles will just sit there. We cannot influence it. The same is not true about out muscles.

With targeted resistance training, we will be able to change the shape and strength of our muscles without becoming too bulky. The healthy layer of fat will pretty much remain the same but the body composition will completely change. With some lower and upper body work you will be able to enhance the muscle groups that are not your strong points from a genetic standpoint.

If you are consistent enough with your training and diet, all those little things will add up to a huge positive change and that can result in a much improved physique. The funny thing is that in a lot of instances the weight won’t really change, yet people will be able to fit into their old clothes. That happens when someone is able to lose fat and gain muscle. This is the basis of any improved physique.
