Breakfast is in fact the king of all meals. Whether you are trying to lose weight; to adopt a healthier lifestyle; or even if you are in habit of giving too much importance to your work to take care of your own body; you need breakfast to complete all kinds of goals. Eating a healthy breakfast in the morning wakes up your body and prepares it to face the day actively.

When you eat, your metabolism starts to work and it remains active throughout the day, hence digesting your other meals faster. Research has found that people who eat breakfast tend to eat less junk throughout the day, thus making them slimmer. When your brain gets its morning nutrition, it performs better and you end up contributing more in your office tasks. You don’t have to skip breakfast just because you have other things to take care of in the morning; we have some simple, healthy recipes that will get you started in no time!

Apple Porridge :

This healthy breakfast takes 10 minutes to cook, from prep. to end.

INGREDIENTS :-

Porridge oats

50g

Apple juice

200ml

Skimmed milk

100ml

Dessert apple

1 (sliced)

Cinnamon

1 pinch

Method :

Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and let it come to a boil. Then let it simmer for 5 minutes on a lower heat with occasional stirring. Dish out and sprinkle with cinnamon.

The only preparation you would need in this recipe is to pick and slice the apple.

Scrambled Eggs :

This recipe also takes a maximum of 10 minutes to prepare. It is light to eat and high in proteins. You can eat this for breakfast and also pack this for a light office lunch on a busy day.

INGREDIENTS :

Eggs 2
Milk 4 – 6 Tablespoons
Salt 1 pinch ( to taste )
Black pepper 1 pinch –grounded- (optional)
Oil 1 tbsp.
Toast 2 slices
Low fat sandwich spread 2 tbsp. (optional)

Method :

Scramble the eggs, milk, and salt in a bowl and pour the mixture in a hot frying pan or sauce pan with a tbsp. of oil in it. Keep stirring gently on a medium heat till the eggs are fluffy and set. Sprinkle black pepper.
Dish out in a plate and eat with toast.

TIP : Make a sandwich by spreading the spread on the toast and putting the scrambled eggs in between the two slices of toast.

Milk Shake :

We all love nice cool milkshakes on a sunny day. This recipe takes only 5 minutes to prepare.

INGREDIENTS :

Any seasonal fruit like mangoes, strawberries, or bananas … (1 mango sliced, handful strawberries, or 2 bananas)

Sugar/honey

1 tbsp.

Milk

1 cup

Ice

4-6 Cubes (best if crushed)

Put all the ingredients, except ice, in a blender and blend. Put ice and blend again.

Pour in a glass and enjoy.

Take a few nuts to munch while you are at work or on the way there.

Breakfast does not have to be this fancy to keep you healthy. You can grab an energy bar, a cup of yogurt or a pack of nuts to get you started. Even last night’s left overs are a good idea to make a healthy morning meal. If you not in a habit of eating of eating breakfast then you better develop this habit because a research by California State Polytechnic University’s nutritionist, Susan Bowerman says, “If you just can’t eat first thing, have an energy bar midmorning for fuel, otherwise, you may overeat at lunch.”
